California is not so sunny these days. There has been A LOT of precipitation in the last few weeks. After a 9-hour drive, we had quite the exciting weekend in Tahoe. We took along our friends Laura, Jackson and Pierce. With three kids along, 9 hours seemed like a lifetime, even though they were great travelers. When we got there, we spent an hour digging our way into the condo (okay, Mark did all the digging, but it was his idea to go:) Then, when he finally got to the door he realized he had the wrong set of keys. OMG...seriously. So after several calls to the condo association and maintenance, we got into the condo and out of the cold. Despite our best intentions to get outside and have fun, there were 15 foot snow walls and drifts which made it difficult to do anything but stay inside by the fire. Sadie and Jackson took lessons on Sunday and were officially icicles by the end of the day. Mark got in a few runs with his new board - so it was all good. We're super proud of the progress that Sadie made this season and that she stuck with it through good weather and bad...she's skiing like a champ. Here are some pictures of snow...
I-80 was closed off and on all weekend, so we jumped at the chance to leave on Sunday evening. We wanted to be back in time to meet my family on Monday evening. My mom and dad brought Sadie's cousins, Brennan and Braden, down to visit for their spring break. Needless to say, it's been a soggy spring break! They came down to see us, but also to enjoy some sunny weather and go to Great America. Not so much. It has been pouring the last few days. We've made the best of it though and we've gone ice-skating, spent a day at the California Academy of Sciences, watched some movies and just played at home. The boys have been good sports and love playing with their little cousin, which is pretty cute. Brennan is about twice as tall as Sadie now and still he has the interest in hanging out with her when he's not on his Nintendo DS. Braden has had his fill of pizza and cheesecake and fashion shows (he's the only audience Sadie can get, poor guy). Unfortunately, they head home tomorrow. Time flies when you are on vacation! Here are some pics from our week together...
